in order to see all the images, you need to be a real user. please create a test user account (please notify the admin or me so it can later be deleted), then browse some of the topics. the topics that have a bunch of small animated GIFs cause mozilla to flat out hang for anywhere between a few seconds and up to a minute inbetween UI responses and the stalls happen very frequently. the entire UI hangs. even clicking on menu buttons doesn't result in any response until the hang resolves. i'm using build 20040212-08
Product: Browser → Seamonkey
Is this still a problem with current SeaMonkey 2.0a3pre trunk builds?
(In reply to comment #1) > Is this still a problem with current SeaMonkey 2.0a3pre trunk builds? I'm not sure. The URL at top of this page loads moderately fast, and about as fast in Sm as in Kq; but OTOH its present version hasn't got "lots of animated images". I also happen to have a local page with pure HTML (Cyrillic and Latin text, but no images at all) + separate (linked) CSS, which loads _much_ faster in Kq than in Sm; but I suppose that this would be a different bug. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1b4pre) Gecko/20090306 SeaMonkey/2.0b1pre - Build ID: 20090306000502 Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/3.5; Linux 2.6.27.19-3.2-pae; X11; i686; en_US) KHTML/3.5.10 (like Gecko) SUSE
P.S. Even after registering and logging in, I don't see animated images on that page. Blu3 (if you're still there) could you update the URL please?
sorry. i dropped my account there a long time ago. i currently use firefox 3.0.x and i haven't seen this issue for a few years. i'll close it as resolved/wfm since firefox doesn't hang (completely) even on horribly overloaded pages like on myspace.
