Details
User-Agent: Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 After installing the Firefox 0.8 milestone, I noticed all my GIF, JPEG, and PNG image files were associated with Firefox. After changing the file associations (in Windows' Folder Options->File Types) to my custom image-viewing progam, Firefox informs me that it is no longer the default browser... even though HTML, HTM, and XML files remain associated with Firefox and start up in Firefox when opened from Windows Explorer! Telling Firefox to make itself the default browser reassociates the JPEG/GIF/PNG file extensions to Firefox. Shouldn't Firefox only look for association with hypertext files when testing if it is the current browser? I *would* like Firefox to inform me if any other application has taken over HTML files, but having to deal with the dialog box every time Firefox starts is annoying. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:

I noticed this same behavior with FireBird 0.7 / Windows 2000, and when I upgraded just now, it did the same thing. Annoying, because a person needs to know how to change file type associations in Windows. Not everyone can do that. (Or even wants to know.) Please fix this for future versions/installations!
