User-Agent: Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 I was downloading a file of 500Mb. When it was done, Firefox automatically opened WinZip, so I thought: okey, I can close the download manager now. I pressed Extract in winzip and it gave me the error that the file didn't exist. So it seems that when you close download manager it deletes all temp files. It'd be better if this happened when Firefox shutted down. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. download a file 2. have it auto-opened in a program 3. close download manager 4. the file is now deleted and thus you can't work with it in the program no longer Actual Results: the file got deleted and I lost 1 hour of download work Expected Results: it should have kept it in the temp folder until the whole firefox program closed.
This actually works for me fine even after closing the download manager window. Can you try again with a clean profile and a clean install of the latest build? It's available here: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/

It still WFM in Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7b) Gecko/20040317 Firefox/0.8.0+. Marking as WORKSFORME since the reporter hasn't yet reproduced this with a recent build (and I can't). If you can reproduce this with a recent build (see link in comment 1), then please reopen the bug.
