This problem first came up after a few weeks of using 1.5 moving to 1.6 did not correct the issue.
Are there any errors in the JS console?
Sorry didn't know those where there In the JS console I get Error: this.linkChecker.asyncCheckURI is not a function Source File: chrome://communicator/content/contentAreaUtils.js Line: 430 In the Java Console I get Feb 19, 2004 11:11:29 PM java.util.prefs.FileSystemPreferences syncWorld WARNING: Couldn't flush system prefs: java.util.prefs.BackingStoreException: Couldn't get file lock.
> Error: this.linkChecker.asyncCheckURI is not a function That would do it... I wonder how this manages to happen....
> Error: this.linkChecker.asyncCheckURI is not a function this is the only error in js console? it doesn't say anything about this.linkChecker.init?
Nope that was the only message in JS console. Well last night I updated everything on my system with emerge -up world and mozilla 1.6-r1 Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040219 was installed. Since that time the bug has gone away. I'll try to see if I can get it to come back tonight sometime.
Mmm... gentoo... they've had some issues with their mozilla packages in the past (library paths set wrong, etc.)
Product: Browser → Seamonkey
Reporter says WFM in comment 5, so resolving. I guess this was related to Bug 180672 or bug 160454.
