When I attempt to download, the download manager opens a window named "What
should firefox do with this file", but then allows for no choice. I can open the
DL manager after that and click "Retry" and it appears to work but there is
never any download in my download folder.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Any download
2.Restarted computer and same result
3.

Actual Results:  
No choice in this window

Expected Results:  
Internet Explorer downloads the same thing ok
Seems to work fine for me.

Reporter, can you try to reinstall Firefox 0.8 (uninstall/delete your old
installation ENTIRELY first), and also using a clean profile? To get a clean
profile, delete the folder %AppData%\Phoenix

Note: Deleting that folder will clear all your cookies/bookmarks/etc. You might
want to make a backup of it before deleting it.

Please try to reproduce before installing any extensions. If you cannot
reproduce, please mark invalid. If you can, let us know with specific steps to
reproduce, and a download link.

It WFM too on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7b)
Gecko/20040310 Firefox/0.8.0+.
