Details
User-Agent: Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 Vis: I want to use Eudora as default mail program. ( Deselecting Moz as default has no effect) Mozmail won't accept user passwords on Mail Server - simply loops as though password in error. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Edit/preferences/mail 2. uncheck "use moz as default" 3. save and exit 4. restart browser Actual Results: Moz comes up as default mailer. Note: reloading User details does not help in refusal of password ( works fine in Eudora standalone) Expected Results: 1. Allowed mr to remove Moz as default mail prog 2. Allowed mre to specify another 3. Accept std smtp as Eudora does ( note: it gives a "Server refused SMTP error") Nothing special in setup all defaults, no addins, addons.

The password problem and the default mail program problem should be filed as two different bugs. I do not know whether Eudora has implemented the necessary things to make itself the default mail program or not -- if not, you won't be able to fix this problem without a lot of low-level registry tweaking. If it has, then the following should work: Under Windows XP: Logged in as an Administrator, select: Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Set Program Access & Defaults Under "Default Mail Program" there should be a selection for Eudora. Choose it, hit OK. Eudora should now be the default mail program. An alternate approach is to find the setting within Eudora that says, "Make Eudora the default mail program."
