Quoting from an email from hyatt: "The mailnews window had slower tree scrolling because it was reflowing the whole window whenever you scrolled the thread pane. I have managed to make it so that - if you don't touch the splitter - this doesn't happen in the default case. Once you touch the splitter, however, things get wacky. This is definitely a bug in boxes that Eric will need to look at." cc'ing hyatt in case more info is needed.

David, is this the same bug we talked about on Friday where the headers changing size wouldn't change the size of the message pane? Or should I file a separate bug on that?

If this is the cause of the problem, then this is pretty big. I tried moving the splitter and from then on reading mail becomes really slow. Every time I try to do something the cpu goes to 100% for a while. It makes it unuseable.

It looks like the calculated size gets off once the splitter is moved....

moving to m14 since there is a workaround - don't touch the splitter. This should not be critical severity, since there is no crash, data loss or severe leak.

This seems to be ok now. I moved the splitter around a lot. Selected lots of messages. Move the splitter some more. And I didn't slow down. thanks. Marking Verified.
