Plug-ins are not being reported as installed, something that should be incorporated into the program of Mozilla.

I would like to see a drop down menu that would tell you what plug-ins are
installed for Mozilla. Since I do not know which plugins were installed
successfully, it is imposible to see if there is a problem with a plug-in. I
installed 2 plug-ins yesterday. One for Flash and one for Shockwave. I had to
install the Flash because it is required in order to access and send a Birthday
Greeting Card from www.Hallmark.com. After installing the flash plugin, I
rebooted and reconnected to the Hallmark.com site and I got the same screen that
came up stating that I needed to install Flash. There is no way, not to my
knowledge that is, of checking to see if Flash Plugin is installed or installed
properly. I will say, I do know which windows updates are installed and if they
are installed successfully, because of my using Belarc Advisor Program, a free
download. It has a green checkmark by it if it is installed properly and
successfully. If not, it will have red checkmark by the update that was
unsuccessful. Something I wished was available with the plugins for Mozilla.
Otherwise, I think Mozilla is a great project and worthwhile program, coupled of
course with Zone Alarm Plus, it makes for an excellent secure browser and mail
handling program. I have noticed on flaw in Mozilla though, and that is the
fact it is slower at loading the web pages than IE is. Taking way too long on
the more graphic web sites.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.No way to reproduce because there is no way I know of to check what plug-ins
are installed.
2.
3.
Expected Results:
I would like to see some sort of provision and implication into the program that
would show what plug-ins are installed and it they were successful. I noticed
ActiveX Plugin has a security warning and thank you for that warning, because
Norton Win Doctor has alway listed these ActiveX Problems as an area that needs
to be fixed. I will not download this plugin as long as a security problem is
at stake.

Open the 'Help' menu, and open 'About Plug-Ins' from there,
or simply type about:plugins into the location bar.
To verify that a plugin is installed correctly, you should see it over there,
and you should verify the operation at a known working website.
So it doesn´t make sense to verify that Flash is working, if you don´t see the
plugin over there, but when you see it, you can verify the operation somewhere
at http://www.macromedia.com/software/flashplayer/
