User-Agent: Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7 I subscribe to a few high volume mailing lists and sort them by thread. I would like to have the option to delete the whole thread when: the parent message is highlighted and the thread is expanded, or the thread is unexpanded(word choice?) and the topmost message is deleted The main reason is that when a thread is not expanded, I have to expand the thread, highlight all the messages and then delete them. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

I think Edit > Select > Thread (Ctrl-Shift-A) is a sufficient solution for this, provided it works for you (bug 204965)

Thank you for pointing this out, as I did not know about it. A much cleaner
enhancement could make Thunderbird assume when a collapsed thread is
highlighted, the whole thread is highlighted.
This allows deleting, moving and other actions to be more efficient. Each
thread would not need to be expanded to highlight each individual message.

Duplicate of 65111. Do we need separate bugs for Thunderbird and Mozilla Mail?
