Considering HTML mail works as WYSIWYG, this is a clear WONTFIX.

BB Markup is used because there is no WYSIWYG capability.

try to visit this web-page:
[url]http://www.mozilla.org[/url]
you cant because "[/url]" is translated as part of URL.
So, i have to copy URL to clipboard and put it to address-line manualy or click
on this URL, move cursor to address-line and delete last 5 chars.
