Shut off Kaspersky AV and install works fine. have never had to to turn of av software to install before. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.download software 2.double click on software 3.Install process begins 4. installastion stops around 80% Actual Results: Installation freezes Expected Results: install FireFox

Works for me using the Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7b) Gecko/20040302 Firefox/0.8.0+ installer build together with the Antivir Free-AV antivirus program. IMO this looks more like a bug on the Kaspersky side than on ours, since I never heard of anyone else with an antivirus scanner having problems. Please download a current firefox nightly installer build from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk. Please report your results here.
Av sometimes messes up ALL progrmas install ... Even Nvidia ask you to turn it off when installing their drivers and some others progs do. This is no way a Firebird bug.
