User-Agent: Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 When in the privacy settings I set the option "Remember visited pages for the last x days" on 1 day (which apparently reads "one day into the past") Firefox keeps the history for today and yesterday which is what I expected. When setting the option to 0 days one would assume the history is saved zero days into the past so there's only the history of today left. Instead setting this option to 0 erases the history and disables the writing of a history at all. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set the described option to 0 2. Delete the history 3. Visit some pages and check the history. You'll find it blank. Expected Results: Two different solutions are imaginable: 1. Keep the counting as it is but fix the "0" setting so that is doesn't erase the history and keep (only) the history of the current day. Additionally there should be an option to disable keeping a history at all. 2. Alter the counting so that today stands for "1". Then, a setting "0" would act like it does right now (no history at all), "1" would keep the history only for today, "2" for today and yesterday and so on.
I can't reproduce this behavior with the CVS version ...unfortunately. Since I knew of no other way to disable history and the associated dropdown, I had the timeout set to 0 in Firefox 0.8. This prevented history from being stored and kept the dropdown from appearing. However, in the CVS version, even with the setting at 0 days sites are stored in the history and the dropdown appears. I personally hope that the behavior is reverted so that one can prevent the history from being accumulated at all and avoid the dropdown. Ideally there would be an option for this, as there is in Seamonkey, but I don't expect this to ever be added to Firefox (I'd love to be proven wrong).
I get no error with the latest version. Leaving as unconfirmed.
in reference to comment # 2: I have muoltiple bug reports open and accidentally had that come in here. I tested with version 0.9.2 and found that it does happen. After searching through bug reports, i cannot find a duplicate. Confirming and voting

The string is different now, as well as how history is stored, so this bug is no longer valid.
