Additional to the inbuild filter I use message filter to delete spam. But i
cannot flag it as spam automatically so that the junk mail filter can learn
from it.

I am using Mozilla Thunderbird 0.5+ (20040328) on Windows XP and there is now an
option in the Message Filter setup to "Set Junk Status" with the options of
"Junk" & "Not Junk".
