User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040219 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040219 This problem occured just out from the air. I simply launched Mozilla mail and it popped up telling that my email account has got 3emails pending. So i clicked "Receive" and it just showed 1 of 3 then halted. Theres basically nothing wrong with the mailserver as i have 2other accounts running from there without any problems. Although i dont have a clue whats wrong, i tried to install Mozilla 1.7 (testing version) to see if it could straighten up the problem but without any luck. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Expected Results: Received mails

Is any Antivirus software running on your system? If yes, does retrieving mail works if you shut it down (not just disable it)? If not, please visit http://www.mozilla.org/quality/mailnews/mail-troubleshoot.html#pop and follow the instructions to create a log and attach it here. I guess the server you're using is POP, or is it IMAP?

Thanks for the quick advice. I am using Norton Anti-Virus which i did since i installed and used Mozilla mail, i tried to disable/shut down the anti-virus program but yet acted like before. Regarding the logging thing Command doesnt seem to launch the program but just opens command views the path on the title. Batch code: set NSPR_LOG_MODULES=POP3:5 set NSPR_LOG_FILE=%TEMP%\pop3.log start "C:\Program Files\mozilla.org\Mozilla\mozilla.exe -mail" Im using POP

Hm, I'd try start C:\Program Files\mozilla.org\Mozilla\mozilla.exe and switch to mail manually. If this doesn't work too, put the NSPR-lines in autoexec (or what it's on XP) and restart your system (don't be afraid what's written in the roubleshoot page about this). Then start Mozilla manually and get mails.

Then start Mozilla manually and get mails. First method was tested but still without any luck. Although as you told me i added the lines into autoexec which worked at last, the text file with the logging is attached to this bug.

This log is confusing. Please only retreive mail from one account (the one with the hanging mail) if you produce a log. Though I tried to find a problem I couldn't. Did the retrieve hang while you logged the traffic? If not it's useless to have a log. If yes I'll need supporting information which mail on which accoung hung.

You tried it or you did it? Disabling or shutting down? No NAV thread should
show on the task manager.

I will try producing a log with only the specific account which is making this problem. I do not understand your question regarding the logging but ill try to reply on what i could understand. Basically i click "receive" and it shows how many emails there, but when its close to retreiving it hangs up. What i have noticed now is that when i try to receive again right after it says following: "This folder is being processed. Please wait until processing is complete to get messages." - Which i have done a few times perhaps for hours before trying to click receive again right after.

Another detail i wanted to provide is that i have one more account which runs through the same mailserver, this account works fine.

After reinstalling 1.7 3times i tried to install 1.6 instead, and suddenly it functioned when i was receiving email. But what is bothering me now is the password questioning. Even if i comment out the "save password" box it keeps asking me for the password again.
