Every time I open Firefox it creates a window with the default size, forgetting
the size I had it at last time. This is especially annoying because it doesn't
care about the size of the dock, and puts the resize smack dab in the middle of
it, even though my dock is smaller than normal.

This is due to the permissions on localstore.rdf being incorrect. It's set to
444 instead of 644. Manually changing the perms fixes the problem (as well as
the symptom listed in bug 23739.)
Here is what the perms on all newly created profiles look like on MacOS:
drwxr-xr-x 7 jerry staff 238 Mar 14 09:59 Cache
-rw-r--r-- 1 jerry staff 555534 Mar 14 11:13 XUL.mfasl
-rw-r--r-- 1 jerry staff 3000 Mar 14 11:33 bookmarks.html
drwxr-xr-x 5 jerry staff 170 Mar 14 07:57 chrome
-rw-r--r-- 1 jerry staff 874 Mar 14 11:33 history.dat
-r--r--r-- 1 jerry staff 153 Sep 29 2002 localstore.rdf
-r--r--r-- 1 jerry staff 14552 Dec 6 23:19 mimeTypes.rdf
-r--r--r-- 1 jerry staff 1325 Jan 28 13:22 panels.rdf
-rw-r--r-- 1 jerry staff 622 Mar 14 11:33 prefs.js
-r--r--r-- 1 jerry staff 2335 Sep 29 2002 search.rdf
All of the files that are mode 444 should be 644.
Severity: normal → blocker
Summary: Firefox forgets the window size between sessions → Incorrect permissions on localstore.rdf causes strange behavior

It seems to have been fixed now. I created a new profile and permissions are ok.

This is still an issue on 10.2.8. I dmoved my entire pFirefox directory out of
the way, and the default profile that it created still had the incorrect
permissions.

Can this bug be reproduced with Firefox 1.0 PR on Jaguar?
If not this bug should be marked as Works for me.
