RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 230420

People

(Reporter: mozilla, Assigned: sspitzer)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040219
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040218

A digital signature (like one from Thawte) does not get included with an
outgoing message when the account the message is from is switched from an
account that does not use a signature to an account that does.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
0. Verify that you have at least two mail accounts in the same profile, one of
which has a digital signature and has the "Digitally sign messages (by default)"
preference enabled
1. Create a new message from the mail account that does not have the signature
2. In the Compose window, switch the "From" line to the account that should have
digital signatures included by default
Actual Results:
digital signature has not been included

Expected Results:
digital signature is included per user's specified preference in
user_pref("mail.identity.id1.sign_mail", true);

I've confirmed this in Mozilla Thunderbird 0.5 (20040207) on Windows XP
Professional and Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7a)
Gecko/20040218, so I'm assuming that "All" is appropriate for OS and platform.
somewhat resemblant of bug 235550. Do you have Enigmail installed?
rkaa: I do not have Enigmail installed.
This is by design and I don't think that will change.
