User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 this page, and: http://www.therangerstation.com/Magazine/Fall2003/1993-1997FrontTowHookInstallation.htm along with http://members.rogers.com/lenwinn/index.htm, among others, I'm not able to locate again every access shuts down mozilla, pretty much erasing the whole session, typed in urls, history, and saved bookmarks for that session, from start up of mozilla to this shut down are gone when restarted, only urls and history before start-up of that session remain. copied pages to disk, with same results when I tried opening them there. looked at them through notepad, but don't know enough html to realy help, didn't note any 'common' source relevant info I believe is that I have uninstalled the default IE installation, using litepc's ieradicator, same pages work fine on other system with IE. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.remove IE 2. 3. Actual Results: shuts down mozilla, effectively erasing whole session, all open mozilla windows/tabs are shut down, all records of session, including bookmarks saved during that session. Expected Results: open pages. I am getting nothing from mozilla,so have no way of helping there, it just shuts down, closing all browser windows and tabs, no response otherwise, it acts as though I hit shut-down, though it shuts EVERY mozilla operation down, there is NO indication that it was ever open. windows 2k, service pack 2, IE removed, otherwise a default install. will work on it here, and post anything I can come up with.
WFM using Win2K SP4 and both Mozilla 1.6 and 1.7b. Both of those pages use Java. WFM using the Sun JVM Version 1.4.2_01. If you are using a different JVM or an older version of the Sun JVM you may want to try switching and see if that cures the problem.
This could be caused by the fact that you have removed IE. I don't exactly know what is being removed when IE is being removed but perhaps there is some DLL removed that is being used by Mozilla. It works for me anyway on Moz 1.7a under WinXP.
this URL uses fphover applet which is known to hang Sun's JRE 1.3.x (see bug 111944), can you ugprade to Sun's JRE 1.4.2_04 and report if still having issues ?

Upgraded to jre se 1.4.2_04, and that cured the problem, runs fine now think I installed jre 1.4.2_03, then uninstalled IE last time, which may have been the wrong way of going about it, plan a new install, and removal in opposite order just to see.
