User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; it-IT; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; it-IT; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 i have certificate from my bank. i can import it only whit 'root' user (and work fine) but a simple user can't import the pks certificate Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. when i open the certifcate manager and choose import the 'open' button is not active and don't change if i select the certificate file on the floppy. i try mount with read-only and read-write but the result is the same. i try to logon into the security device before import but is the same. with the 'root' user the import is quiet and follow your documentation. Note i use this certificate with mozilla 1.3 to about one week ago.
Wouldn't it be a different issue that the open button is disabled here?
Summary: no 'root' user cant import pks certificate → no normal user can import pks certificate (need to be root)
I test on two computers: on RHL 8.0A all work fine (THE BUG IS NOT VERIFIED) on Mandrake 9.1 the bug is verified I try to delete the directory .mozilla in home directory and restart mozilla; the bug is the same

The file picker is common code, not PSM specific. If the open button is disabled, then there is a good chance the file is not readable. Likely INVALID, but there is some possibility that something about the file's being on the floppy is confusing the file picker. --> file picker

he didn't say that it was always on a floppy, only that it didn't change when it was. i suspect the file is being imported into the mozilla binary tree instead of the profile directory. perhaps ./run-mozilla.sh `which strace` -f ./mozilla-bin |grep '.db'
