I think the Palm sync problem is related to the max allowable address book name
exceeding the max allowed length of my Handspring Visor (The address book only
allowed 15 characters as name on my Handspring Visor).

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Run Palm Sync to Handspring Visor
2.check on Mozilla book synchronized.
3.

Actual Results:  
Mozilla address book (Mozilla 1.7beta) has two default address book catagories:
"Personal Address Book" & "Collected Addresses" and both are exceeding the 15
max characters allowed in my Handspring Visor (Palm). The address book label got
corrupted after the Palm sync operation and address enteries inside the address
book never got sync up correctly. To make thing even worst, the operation is
corrupting the address book database and the address book name is not match up
between the PC-XT and Palm-visor (more Palm-sync operation didn't improve the
situation).


Expected Results:  
Suggestion to the Palm-sync software:
1. check for the length of the address book name in Mozilla address book
2. if it is over 15 characters, chuncated it to 15 characters to fit the Visor.
3. Sync-operation

This will created a address book with a chuncated name (especially when
Palm-sync coping address book from Visor back to Mozilla address book on PC) but
this should avoid the database being corrupted in the Palm-Visor.

The sync operation is causing my Visor address book to lock and the corrupted
address book cannot be deleted. I need to take the battery out of my Visor and
start from the step of erasing all data from the Visor to recover. This is
pretty severe and I am glad that I back up everything before I tried the Palm Sync!

Gordon, have you seen anything like this on the forums in the past 12 months? 
I don't think there are any similar bug reports either.

Hi Wayne,

I haven't seen any reported problems similar to this. Palm devices do have the 15 character limit on category names, however, they simply truncate the category names and I am unaware of any problems or issues related to this truncation that are similar to what is reported in this bug.

Reporter, if you have more detailed information, please post it and reopen the bug.  For now I'm closing this as the report isn't clear enough for me, we have no data, and I'm not sure it's a valid problem.
