User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7b) Gecko/20040316 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7b) Gecko/20040316 the mail program tries to connect to the pop/smtp server using the proxy configuration even told him to don´t use it with that host (pop3/smtp host) in my network the web access is made using an ms isa server. however the internal network has a lotus notes pop3/smtp server and the access to it does not need the proxy. this setting is in the 'preferences/advanced/proxies/no proxy for' option where the host name of the pop3/smtp server is in. if the option 'direct connection to the internet' is marked instead of 'manual proxy configuration' the mail program works normally. i think that it can reach the pop server using the proxy and this cant do that then the timeout raises. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.every time that i try to connect to the pop3/smtp server 2. 3. Actual Results: the message 'timeout to connect to the server' appears Expected Results: do not use the proxy for access the pop3/smtp server when it is indicated in the preferences for it
Hm, a proxy for POP/SMTP is only used if a proxy is entered in the SOCKS Host field, not in others. Did you enter the proxy in this field? Is your web proxy a SOCKS Host? And in "no proxy for" you entered the same "text" as in the POP/SMTP Server Name field? That means not an IP in one and a name in the other or so.
well. this is not a bug. after removal of proxy information for socks protocol and adding the server hostname/ip in 'no proxy for' input box, the mail program reach the mail server normally. thanks

> after removal of proxy information for socks protocol and adding the server > hostname/ip in 'no proxy for' input box If you only enter a proxy in HTTP or other non-SOCKS fields it's not necessary to enter your mail server in "no proxy for".
