We automatically select the OS you are running on the left column of the page below "Download Now" on the page: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ Yet, for Thunderbird (http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/), it doesn't automatically detect, and shows many options. I'd like to still see more options for the Firefox page even if it detects the OS because, for instance, you might be downloading the Win32 version from a Linux computer to share the installation program through the network. That's what I do. Results: Only Download now for {Detected OS},English" appears. Expected Results: Both "Download now for Linux, English" appears, along with buttons below that for: Linux, MacOSX, Windows without having to go to "Other Operating Systems"

I don't see this as much of a problem, because there are few users who would download using one operating system and install on another. And for those few that would do this, it's only one more click.

Its also inconsistant between the Thunderbird and Firebird pages. Being consistant is a good thing. Can't we just combine the two ways and share it between pages? It seems like the extra click is unecessary when a little code can just be shared between pages (and just have different values for the name of the product) instead of doing it differently on each page.

If someone tells me how to get the code for the Mozilla site (if that's possible), I'll throw together the patch myself.

Brian, the webtree is only available to people with CVS accounts. You can do patch using the Edit This Page link at bottom of the page you want to change.

Verified. There should be a "Fixed elsewhere" resolution for old bugs like this.
