User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7b) Gecko/20040315 Firefox/0.8.0+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7b) Gecko/20040315 Firefox/0.8.0+ When I open Thunderbird, the accounts which are configured to receive mail at startup begin to show down in the status bar, a little window telling me for example "Account 1 has 20 new messages". But, it seems that only, Thunderbird check the total of messages at the account but it didn't download them. To do this, you have to click again, (and maybe in the wrong way because it was configured to do at startup) the Get mail button, and is at this time when it starts to download the messages. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Accounts configured to receive mail at startup 2. Open Thunderbird 3. Actual Results: Shows only the total of new messages of the accounts, but you have to do again the get mail function. Expected Results: Start to download the messages at the time, and in the status bar (at the moment until the window download status) shows: Account 1: Receiving 2 of 16 messages.....
I have this problem when Thunderbird does a periodic check for new mail. I have two accounts set up, both check for new mail every 5 minutes. If there is new mail, I get a notification, but the mail is not downloaded. I then have to click the 'Get new mail' button to persuade Thunderbird to actually download the e-mails.
POP mail accounts have a setting (on the Server Settings page) for [x] Automatically download new messages Is this box checked in your configuration (for each account)?
>POP mail accounts have a setting (on the Server Settings page) for > [x] Automatically download new messages > >Is this box checked in your configuration (for each account)? I don't know, but I think it may not have been :-( I've since upgraded to Thunderbird 0.7.3, the box *is* checked, and it's working fine. I'm not sure if it's working because the bug got fixed, or because I stopped being an idiot. Sorry to have wasted your time.
