If I have two or more Mozilla windows (Navigator, MailNews, or Composer) open,
when I close one of the windows using the File > Close menu item, Type Ahead
Find stops working in the remaining Navigator windows. Alphanumeric keystrokes
are ignored, while typing "/" or "'" will cause the appropriate TAF start
message to be displayed on the status bar with subsequent alphanumeric
keystrokes failing to register. Opening a new window via the File > New menu
item, or selecting the desired window from the list of open windows under the
Window menu cures this condition. Note that this problem doesn't seem to happen
when one of the open windows is closed by clicking the standard window close
widget, i. e. it only develops after closing the window via the File > Close
menu item.

I can reproduce this problem in Mozilla 1.7b, 1.6 and perhaps earlier, but not
in Mozilla 1.2.1.

Sounds like a focus problem....

Yeah, I see this in 1.6, but only via File/Close, not via ^W. Also, this only
affects find as you type, not anything else that uses the focus.

*possibly* related, as it is to do with closing a window:
1. Open compose window
2. Tab to or click in message body
3. Open a dialog (not native file dialog) e.g. Find
4. Close the dialog
At the point the message body has focus, although it doesn't know it.
If you press shift+tab it will now tab to the message body canvas...
