User-Agent: Mozilla/4.8 [en] (Win95; U) Build Identifier: I use Netscape Mail 7.1 on Win2k. I have a TFT-monitor and have to use a resolution 1280x1024. The fonts are too small and I switched to a custom font-size of 134% in windows control-panel. I also changed the specific font size of some window-elements directly in control panel. But the settings don't have any effect on the font-sizes of my e-mails. I enlarged the size in Netscape preferences > appearance > fonts and it worked. The problem is that the selected font size in Netscape affects not only the fonts on the screen but also the printed e-mails. These fonts are much too large. I found out that I can use a zoom-factor in the print-preview menu. I set it to a factor of 80% and the printed text had the right size. The problem is that when I close Netscape 7.1 an restart it again this setting is not saved. It's always set to "fit to screen". I would be much better when there would be a way to save this setting. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
(In reply to comment #0) > The fonts are too small and I switched to a custom > font-size of 134% in windows control-panel. Where exactly is this possible? Does this setting affect text in notepad.exe? And mail bodies in Outlook Express? > I also changed the specific font > size of some window-elements directly in control panel. But the settings don't > have any effect on the font-sizes of my e-mails. Well, you only changed certain windows elements - and those DID change the size. However, I don't see how it's possible to change window text size in Windows2000/XP. > I enlarged the size in Netscape > preferences > appearance > fonts and it worked. That's what it's for... Not sure if it is supposed to affect printed mails... > The problem is that when I close Netscape 7.1 an restart it again this setting > is not saved. It's always set to "fit to screen". I would be much better when > there would be a way to save this setting. Yes, but that's a totally different bug (please only one issue per bug!).

And mail bodies in Outlook Express? The global font sizes like small/large/custom have effect on most applications like notepad.exe, Excel etc. I don't use Outlook Express > I also changed the specific font > size of some window-elements directly in control panel. Yes, there's no possibility to change text sizes with these settings, but with the global font sizes (small / large / custom) > I enlarged the size in Netscape > preferences > appearance > fonts and it worked. > That's what it's for... > Not sure if it is supposed to affect printed mails... I'm not sure, too, but it does :-( > The problem is that when I close Netscape 7.1 an restart it again this setting > is not saved. It's always set to "fit to screen". I would be much better when > there would be a way to save this setting. > Yes, but that's a totally different bug (please only one issue per bug!). But this would be one solution for the problem!
