I have 2 discs. one for execution(c:) the other for databse(d:).
The mail/news program default directory created in C disc, and also mail
database also created in same disc.
I plan mail database in D disc to avoid when C disc crashed.
When I copy mail database files to D disc and change it path, seems mail program
can read database.
But when I erased mail database files and then replaced "Old Mail Database",it
can't read mail.
It means all of my old mail become trash....god!

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.setup mozilla to C disc
2.copy "Old Mail Database Files"(ever been served months ago) to another disc
(Not C: device) and directory
3.change mail database path to item 1 path above will see the problem

Actual Results:
Mail Program Can't Read Old Mail Database,All of Old Mails Will Lost
And Become Trash.

Expected Results:
Let mail program can read old mail database like MS Outlook Express

afaik, this works fine - are you sure you set the directory correctly? Did you
copy the directories correctly?
