User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; Q312461; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) Build Identifier: ThunderBird 0.5 Do anything like open the address book and instead of using the little x in the corner... choose File then Exit. This will close the Address Book and ThuderBird email client. You can also do this from composing a new message. It seems like the application is propigating the Close message this way throughout the application instead of just the open window like the x in the corner does. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. See details. 2. 3. Actual Results: All windows open by the ThuderBird email client and the client itself react to this message. Expected Results: Just the window that you did the File | Close on should have closed.

I disagree with the dismissal of this bug. At the very least, there should be an option setting to remove the Exit command from all windows except the main window.
I've submitted bug 325687, a replacement for this one which asks for a config setting to turn off this dangerous option.
