If compacting folders at startup (see 181627) and receiving mail at the same
time, the progress bar tries to display the progress of both operations,
resulting in confusion. Perhaps the compaction (since it is an uncommon
operation) cuold have its own progress, as suggested in 181627 comment 1.

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Delete some mail. Make sure there are messages waiting to download.
2. Set compact threshold to a low number (Edit/Prefs/Mail&News/Offline&DiskSpace)
3. Restart Moz, and answer the dialog asking to compact folders.
4. Watch the progress bar.

Actual Results:
Progress bar is updated by both the downloading and the compaction.

Expected Results:
Options:
1. Do one thing first then the other.
2. Have a separate dialog for compaction.
take a look at bug 240181 where I attached some screenshots.
The progressbar window jiggles between the progress and the other screenshot
(progresbar runs from 0 till 100%).

Question:
Is this the same thing as in your bug??
No, the progress bar whereof I speak is the one in the status bar, at the bottom
right of the main window. It gets updated in green stripes from L to R.
