Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8
I use phpMyAdmin on my hosted server account at LunarPages (lunarpages.com). My
username and password have been saved, so when the dialog box pops up and asks
for the username and password, they are already filled in.
However, now something strange happens: Sometimes when I start firefox (the
homepage is still at http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/), the same dialog
box pops up and asks for my username & password for the phpMyAdmin interface. If
I enter incorrect info, click OK, or click Cancel, or just about anything,
nothing happens; the dialog box just goes away, and I'm still at
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/. Like I said, this is only sometimes,
and I can't figure out exactly when it happens and when it does not.
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Save password for password prompt.
2. Open Firefox.
Actual Results:
Popped up dialog box asking for username and password (which are saved and were
entered into the dialog box automatically) for the site I saved the password on.
Expected Results:
It should have just loaded my homepage, currently
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
I was using the default theme. There are no special configurations on my
computer; it's WinXP Home Edition with latest non-beta version of Mozilla Firefox.
edit: While this links to phpMyAdmin, the pop-up box is actually a login to my
website's CPanel interface.

1) Do you have more than one homepage set? Multiple homepages can be set by
separating the web pages with a pipe "|" character in the homepage locations in
options.
2) The build you are reporting this bug on is over 2 months old it would be
helpful if you could try to recreate this with a recent build and clean profile
as described in http://texturizer.net/firefox/bugs.html

do you have a bookmark to that site in your toolbar folder with a favicon?
that'd be a problem, and this'd be a dupe :)

Yes, I do, actually, so this is a duplicate then? *wince* Sorry, I really did
search for about 15 minutes trying to find something, but no luck.

if you don't know what's causing it, you can't very well know what to look for
:) don't worry a bit about it

What a freaky bug... I didn't even know about the corresponding SeaMonkey bug
so I'm glad you caught this one Mike.
