The option "Compact Folders" isn't clear to a novice user that its purpose it to
delete messages marked for deletion. This can be confused with the "Empty Trash"
option or how "Compact Folders" works for local folders. For the context of IMAP
folders, something along the lines "Purge messages marked for deletion" would be
clearer (but this is too long).

Bug 94251 has morphed from "'Compact Folders' should really say 'Compact
Folder'"  to "Should change 'Compact Folders' to text appropriate to account
(IMAP, News)." Bug 94251 comment 23 made this duplicate.
