User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7b) Gecko/20040316
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7b) Gecko/20040316
See below.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set up mozilla to view .doc files with MS Word without asking (I mean that
dialog that asks "opem with default app"/"open with : xxx"/"Save")
2. Click on a link to a .doc file
3.
Actual Results:
The file is downloaded and the displaye in MS Word, but the "Download Manager"
window is still showing as if the download were in progress.
Expected Results:
"Download Manager" window shows the download as finished.
The URL of the file looks like this (I changed some parts):
http://our-server/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/*checkout*/some/path/Software%20-%20Status.doc?rev=1.4
The script is actually ViewCVS 0.9.2

The screenshot is taken hours after the file was downloaded and viewed in MS
Word. I also closed Word, in case DLM is waiting on that...

Summary: DL manager shows DL in progress ong after it finished → DL manager shows DL in progress long after it finished

This looks similar to bug 237927, and is probably a dupe. Reporter, what is the
behaviour if you don't have Mozilla set up to always use the default application
(e.g. if you ask Mozilla to just save the file to disk)?
Also changing "DL" -> "download" in the summary so it shows up better in searches.
Summary: DL manager shows DL in progress long after it finished → Download manager shows download in progress long after it finished

I do not have the problem with the link
(http://jajc.ksn.ru/download.php?id=0&action=download) from bug 237927, it is
marked as "Finished" ( only the length is "1KB of 1KB" which a known bug 149237).
It seems that my problem only appears if the URL has query parameters ( &x=y
stuff at the end).
I tried by pasting the URL directly in the URL bar. If it has no query
parameters ( it ends in .../foo.doc ) then it works OK. If I add "&rev=1.2" then
the download is shown as in progrees after it finishes.
If set mozilla to ask me every time what to do with Word files and I select
"Save to disk" then it works OK.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".
This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
