Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8a) Gecko/20040420 Pinball theme Every time I enter a newsgroup, I'm seeing the first item in the thread pane shown with the subject (only) shown as highlighted (reverse video/white text on black). I see this: with threaded or unthreaded views; whether or not there is a selection in the thread pane. If I select the item, it displays entirely as highlighted (as expected); and then when I deselect it, it reverts to the same odd display.
WFM with Modern and Classic with a Linux Gtk2 build from today.
This problem stubbornly persisted thru a couple of sessions after I first encountered it, but has stopped occurring -- same build, no deliberate changes to CSS files or anything else. I'll leave this open for now, but if it doesn't recur over the next couple weeks, I'll WFM it.
This just started happening again. I'd been reading the n.p.m groups with no problem; when I entered n.p.m.wishlist, suddenly I noticed that subject of the *second* item (not the first) was highlighted. Now it's on no matter which group I visit. Here's a screen capture with the threads collapsed...
Here's another capture after expanding the first thread, so you can see that the highlighting is position-dependent rather than subject-text dependent. Both captures taken with the 0422 build (I know, I'm out-of-date here...)
I haven't seen this problem for quite a while, so WFM.

I saw this symptom in Thunderbird 2.0.0.16, in two different RSS folders under the same RSS account. I didn't look at every other folder in my tree, but none of the IMAP or POP inboxes showed it, nor did the few newsgroups and local folders that I checked. Windows XP/64. The program has since been restarted and no longer shows the symptom.
