User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 FireFox is too slow compared to IE to start. On Pentium 1.5 also you have to wait for 5-10 seconds for the browser to load. In Microsoft Office XP version there was a entry in Startup folder called "Microsoft Office Fast Start" which would load required DLL files at boot time so starting Word, Excel would not feel as if it takes time. Same should be done for FireFox that required DLL to be loaded in memory at boot time, so that starting FireFox should not take any time. Also another option can be added as in Yahoo! Messenger which can close main window but runs in system tray, likewise if FireFox is closed than also remain in system tray so next start would be faster. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual Results: FireFox should start immediately ready for url entry. Expected Results: It takes 5-10 seconds to load firefox.
quicklaunch was removed a long time ago, I don't even feel like finding the original to dupe this against, so WONTFIX startup time is important, but we're not going to reimplement quicklaunch.
