using Suse 9.0 I defined a HP Laserjet 8150 foomatic PS recommended as standard.
unfortunately I cannot print from Mozilla that does not allow the printer
specification in the print menu but uses a default  PS/Default that will not
print. Using the "Konquerer Browser" everything is fine.

Please try whether installing the Xprint server (see http://xprint.mozdev.org/
and http://www.mozilla.org/projects/xprint/) works - can you print with that ?

If you are using KDE you can also click properties in the print dialog and
change the print command to kprinter.  This will give two print dialogs instead
of one which is diffrent bug.

drsteele, is this still a problem? Current versions of mozilla have printer
autodetection under CUPS, but I don't know if Suse uses CUPS for printing or
not. LPR printer autodetection is bug 135695, and LP autodetection is bug 306122.
