Text area behavior

Details
On the Mac, you can click in the middle of a text area and then move the mouse
(while still depressed) directly up to select text from where you clicked to the
beginning... as well as moving the moving directly down to select from where you
clicked to the end.
Example: Let's say you have a text are and have typed in the word "automobile".
If you were to click to the left of the "m", and then move the mouse up, "auto"
would be selected. If you moved the mouse down instead of up, "mobile" would be
selected.
It would be great to have this behavior in general for Mac (actually, for all
platforms).

I think this is a duplicate of bug #19191; I just checked this in early this
morning. I think Simon checked in the dependency fix this afternoon.
rjc--please update and see if it works for you.
