Steps to reproduce:
1. Run the installer.
2. Click through default settings until you reach the window with Proxy Settings
button.
3. Click on the Proxy Settings button.
4. Leave the settings blank in the resulting dialog.
5. Click Okay
6. Click Install to proceed with the installation.
Results:
The installation process quits immediately
Expected:
The app is installed.
I did a sanity check for this for benc a couple weeks ago and didn't have a
problem. But that could have been on windows which is not affected.

see bug 242884. handling authentication failure is substantially more difficult
because the installer has no way to return after starting the download.

This won't be fixed on trunk, where the Sm-linux installer has been discontinued.
Feel free to REOPEN on the 1.1.x Branch if still valid there _and_ there is hope of having it fixed within the branch's lifespan.

No. Such a bug probably exists but I don't know its number. All I can do is point to the fact that for quite some time (months or more) no seamonkey-2.0a1pre.*.installer.tar.gz have been uploaded to the FTP server.
You need to log in
