If you edit it at the first line, it doesn't crash. It is very serious problem. I noticed that there are many problems with recent nightlies. So, please test it thoroughly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. click reply after selecting an email message 2. try insert "return" key in the body of the message. not the start of the message 3. it crashes Actual Results: Crash Expected Results: No crash Recent nightlies has lots of bugs. Problem is that once-working-well features are broken severly. Please use the thunderbird after you modify existing code, please. Is there no way to prevent breaking well-behaving features?
This happens for me running 2004052107 on XP as well. I've submitted a Talkback from this crash. Talkback Incident ID TB55204H. It's happened the last few days of nightlies for me atleast. Tried clean install and did not help.
