User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 Using the Save as PDF option in the Print window works correctly the first time, but then will continue to use the title of the last PDF file created during each subsequent PDF save in the current session. This potentialy can overwrite saved PDF files in the same directory. I have not seen any mention of this as far as I know (some descriptions are highly technical and escape me). I apologize if it is allready listed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Browse to a page 2.Choose Print... from the File menu 3.Select Save as PDF 4.Save to directory 5.Repeat for different page. Actual Results: Firefox duplicates file name from the previous PDF save attempt. Expected Results: The software should use the current page title for each PDF save job.
The Save to PDF is part of the OS, correct? If so, does this behaviour happen in all OS X applications? If so, this isn't a Firefox bug. I'm not sure though, since I'm not on OS X.

It looks like a Firefox bug. The file name for Save as PDF (I think the OS uses the print job name for this), is correct in the save dialog and as long as you cancel the dialog it changes for different pages. However when you actually do the save, the file name sticks until you quit Firefox. Other apps don't suffer from this problem.
I was able to reproduce on Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040927 Firefox/0.10

I have also encountered this bug, came here to report it, and found this existing bug. Aren't you happy I didn't file a duplicate? :) I've tested under version 1.0 and 1.0.1, on OS X 10.3.8. It's a major PITA for me because I archive stuff I find important, and I have to manually change the name of the created PDF if I use Firefox ( hence I currently use Safari, but would prefer Firefox if this worked ).
File name duplication/retention also exists with Firefox 1.0.2 under OS X 10.3.8. This behavior (and its related print job name retention) are MAJOR problems for us in a public use environment. We desparately want to deploy Firefox and are unable to because of this issue.

This should be retested in tomorrow's trunk build, as the checkin for bug 312018 may well have fixed this.
Is someone able to test if bug 312018 did fix this?
I cannot reproduce
