RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 104532

People

(Reporter: bugzilla, Assigned: bugzilla)

Details

Build Id: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040531
Firefox/0.8.0+

This is a bit like Bug 185547 was, but not really. This bugs appears when you
open a new tab and close it before it finished loading, the message
"transferring.. " will remain on the status bar, even if you switch to another tab.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a new tab and try http://www.idg.se
2. Before the page is finished loading, close the tab
3. Notice that the message "transferring" remains on the status bar

I tried this with both trunk and branch bild from the mozilla suite, but I did
not see this bug, so it seems to be Firefox specific.

I see this bug both on Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
Changing OS -> All

I can see this on Slackware Linux current, Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686;
en-US; rv:1.8a2) Gecko/20040531 Firefox/0.8.0+ (depend build from sometime
yesterday--no longer 05/31)

If you open the link in a background tab and then close it before actually
giving that tab focus, the message doesn't appear; only if the tab is given
focus will the Transferring data from... appear, and won't go away until another
page is loaded (for instance, reloading the tab that currently has focus)
OS: Windows 2000 → All
