User-Agent:       Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a2) Gecko/20040606 Firefox/0.8
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a2) Gecko/20040606 Firefox/0.8

In bookmark manager, if you delete a folder then expand another folder using the
+ next to the folder name, the folder will not collapse if you try to use the -
next to it's name. The folder can be collapsed by double clicking the folder
name. The problem does not occur if the folder is expanded by double clicking it.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. delete a folder in bookmark manager
2. expand a folder using the + next to it's name
3. try to collpase the folder using the - next to it's name

Actual Results:
the folder does not collapse

Expected Results:
collapsed the folder

This would be a nice bug to fix for 1.0. Vlad, any chance you can help us with
this? I've confirmed with the latest branch build.

Summary: Folders in bookmark manager will not collapse after deleteing a folder → Folders in bookmark manager will not collapse (using the twisty) after deleteing a folder
I saw this in the Bookmarks Sidebar, but not in the Bookmarks Manager. tested
with 2004082615-0.9+ on linux fedora core 2.

here's the js error I get when I try to collapse an open twisty in the Sidebar:

Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code:
0x80070057 (NS_ERROR_ILLEGAL_VALUE) [nsITreeView.getParentIndex]"  nsresult:
"0x80070057 (NS_ERROR_ILLEGAL_VALUE)"  location: "JS frame ::
chrome://global/content/bindings/tree.xml :: onxblclick :: line 742"  data: no]
OS: Windows XP → All
oh, it took me awhile, but I was able to repro this in the Bookmarks Manager.

guessing that we might have to live with this for 1.0 unless a patch appears.
renominate if a good patch is found.

sorry for bugspam, long-overdue mass reassign of ancient QA contact bugs, filter on "beltznerLovesGoats" to get rid of this mass change
QA Contact: mconnor → bookmarks
The bookmarks manager (Library) no longer has the ability to expand folders, so that part of this bug is INVALID.
