I am having the same error message "cannot access this site because SSL is
disabled". Both SSL 2.0 and 3.0 are enabled. I am running XP Pro SP1 and the URL
is a bank location (BofA).

I installed Firefox 1.0 3 times: on Windows XP SP2, Windows NT and Linux.
No problem with XP and Linux, but on NT I had the same problem (SSL is disabled).

I solved the problem by enableing TLS 1.0 (and SSL)
Efter next restart of Firefox, there was no problem any more.

I disabled TLS 1.0 again, restartet Firefox (to reconstruct the problem), but
now everything is working fine.......

bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a

you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
