1. Select a newsgroup.
2. In the messages pane, select the first message in the folder.
3. From the Go menu, select Previous Unread Message
    -> crash

I'll provide a stack trace when I get back to my desk.
ah got the stack trace.  turns out the crash is because of a it's a particular 
newsgroup message and it's in layout.  will refile.
