User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040608 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040608 Might be related to bug 243366, but I provde precise steps to reproduce in a fixed sequence every time. See "steps to reproduce the problem". It might be related to Ebay's new appearance (they're sending something bad for the first time), or it might simply be a latent Mozilla bug which I'm seeing for the first time. I've never used this Ebay 'Pottery and China Finder' tool before. I am very sorry that I was confused by the in versus out appearance of the on/off buttons for talkback. Talkback DID come up the first time, and I accidentally disabled it. But where can I reset this back to 'ENABLED' ??? I have re-installed mozilla AND searched my .mozilla directory. I don't see anything in prefs.js to control talkback. I see mozver.dat, with references to all of my long-gone old versions of quality feedback (as well as the newest, =F$FeH¨FFó$Version1.7.334647162.10808589082F]F) but this file seems way too scary for someone like me to edit. How may I turn QFA back on? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to http://ebay.com 2. from the 'categories' on the left, scroll down and click the link to "Pottery and Glass" 3. Within the 'Top 10' list on the right, click the link to "Spode" (5th most popular). 4. Now within the "Pottery and China Finder" to the left, enter "Spode" as the 'Maker', and enter "gold" (uncapitalized) as the only search keyword. 5. Press the "Show Items" button. Actual Results: Hard crash of Mozilla. My KDE desktop, Mandrake 10.0, appears to be unaffected. Expected Results: The Ebay page should be displayed? Searching in a different way, I found about 5 items which matched both "Spode" and "gold".

Today, this procedure displays 8 items with no crash. VERY unfortunate that I was not able to restore talkback and get you a stacktrace...
To enable talkback (qfa), go to your /bin/components/talkback dir and run ./talkback. In the client UI, look in the Settings menu...you should be able to select "Turn Agent On". That should do it. Please post your Talkback ID as soon as you can run the Talkback client. Thanks.
Thanks Jay, I've turned Talkback 'ON' per your instructions :)
Rick Stockton: Could you reproduce with Mozilla 1.7 final?
Product: Browser → Seamonkey
Never became reproducible, and 1.7 has had several Releases since the day of this problem (with a Release Candidate). Let's close the bug.
