User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040608 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040608 go to the URL and scroll down slightly, keeping an eye on the left side of the page. You'll see a list, with tiny square boxes served as bullets. You will notice that the space to the left of these square bullets are too large, squeezing the text to next line. Bring up an IE and you'll see the list is rendered comfortably within its place. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.go to the URL 2.scroll down slightly to find a list with square bullets 3.compare the rendering of the list to that of IE

In IE, the indentation of a list comes from its margin. In mozilla, it comes from the padding, which makes the usual case work much better (the bullets don't hang out the list border). This site changes the left margin of the list to 23px, which is smaller than IE's default of 40px but larger than Mozilla's default of 0px. Hence you end up with a 40px difference in the bullet position between IE and Mozilla. Not a Mozilla bug -- the site should be resetting both margin and padding.

Thanks for the detailed and lucid explanation (and I'm fully convinced). Please drop this "bug". I've written an email to that web site to see if they can adjust their page. - thanks.

The bug is in the tech evangelism product now, which means it's tracking the process of contacting the web page and asking them to fix it. When they fix it, we mark the bug fixed.

I visited the URL again the the problem is now gone. I used FF 1.0.2 but I'm not sure it's due to browser change or the page change. I'm marking it as WFM.
