User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8

Windows 2000 SP4 - fresh installation done only a week earlier.

1. Deleted and removed all traces of FF 0.8 via Control Panel->Add/Remove
programs (0.8 had been installed with your Windows Installer).

2. Ran the Windows Installer for FF 0.9. Changed the command line to:
firefox.exe /p - this started the profile manager, and showed the previous
profile, even though I had eliminated ff 0.8 from the system. I installed to
F:\Firefox, and I needed to run the profile manager to make sure that my profile
goes to the same folder, and NOT to %APPDATA% because I don't want it there.

3. Attempted to delete the old profile. Got message explaining the difference
between "delete files" and "don't delete files" - regardless of what option I
selected, Windows displayed the message "Firefox.exe has generated an error and
will now be closed."

4. After that, I can't fun Firefox.exe WITH OR WITHOUT the /p switch, until I
uninstall completely.

5. On 3rd try, I decided to create a new profile before deleting the old one.
Created new profile successfully, stored it under F:\Firefox\. Closed the
profile manager.

6. Ran the profile manager again, and attempted to delete the old profile. Same
result - Windows error message described in #3 above.

7. Attempted removal of ff 0.9 via Control Panel-> Add/Remove programs - error
message, can't find the uninstall folder.

I HAVE REPRODUCED THIS BEHAVIOR 3 TIMES

8. I noticed that when I try to delete an existing profile in the profile
manager, the explanation given on your screen (with the "Delete files," "don't
delete files" and "cancel" buttons) states that the Firefox folder will be
completely removed - how is that possible if that's where Firefox.exe is
installed AND IT IS RUNNING?

Re-installed FF 0.8 where the profile manager works flawlessly.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. See above in "Details"
2. See above again
3.

Actual Results:
See above in "Details"

Expected Results:
Removal of old profile which shouldn't have been there in the first place
according to your instructions, which I followed to the letter.

Severity: Missing from your drop-down options: Without a fix for this, I can't
use ff 0.9 or the 1.0 release if this is not addressed.

Thank you and best regards.

FYI - the exact same download was transported on a USB removable drive to an XP
system where FF 0.9 installed and is running perfectly.

Respectfully, this release is not ready, not by a long shot.

As I now have 0.8 installed and running, and reinstalling all this takes too
much of my time, I regret to say that I will be unable to spend any more time
testing this.
