We now have BitTorrent torrents for Mozilla (still not Firefox, Thunderbird and other products). We should also have Gnutella Magnet links so we could simply download products with very popular software like LimeWire, BearShare, Shareaza and others. For more information about Magnet links visit this site: http://magnet-uri.sourceforge.net/ It would also be very nice if Mozilla server (and mirrors) could also serve the files over this network to make downloads even faster.
Magnet links do not need to be served by a Mozilla server , they simply need to exist. By using a magnet link with a sha1 hash a magnet-compatible program will simply look for a file on the Gnutella and Gnutella 2 networks which match this hash. Mozilla.org does not need to run a Gnutella or Gnutella 2 client/server , they simply need to link with a sha1 hash. Bitcollinder can be used to generate theese links. http://bitcollider.sourceforge.net/ It's available both for Windows and Linux and it's opensource so it can be ported to other platform or included in custommade mozilla serverapps if needed. If I could I'd confirm this enhancement .. it's a great idea.

I don't see this ever happening, as it would be difficult to make sure the files served via P2P are actually valid builds from Mozilla. --> WONTFIX
