Reporter, what are the results when you do the following:
1. Right click page -> "Bookmark this page"
2. Ctrl+Shift+D ("File bookmark...")

From Reporter: I tried again today, and now find that Ctrl-D indeed adds the
bookmark. Perhaps there was a problem with my system last night immediately
after installing Mozilla 1.7 Linux (I tried it repeatedly, many times last
night). So please remove this bug report and consider it resolved.
