Extensions are known to corrupt your profile and make it inaccessible. Close the Firefox process and then create a new profile. http://texturizer.net/firefox/bugs.html#s1 Replace "-P" with "-ProfileManager" on the advice given on that page. --> Invalid/Wontfix

How about WORKSFORME?
Since the Reporter hasn't responded with any more information I'll close this as WORKSFORME as suggested in comment 3. I suspect it got fixed in Firefox 0.9.1 which was released a week after this bug was filed. Reporter, if you can provide steps to reproduce this problem with a recent version then please feel free to reopen.

I uninstalled Firefox. Ran a registry cleaner to remove any other files. Then reinstalled Firefox. The prog works great. This time, though, I didn't install any extentions. I believe that my problem was one of them.
