Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040614 Firefox/0.9 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040614 Firefox/0.9 I use "Scroll Wheel Emulation" in uControl (http://gnufoo.org/ucontrol/ucontrol.html), and I use the 'fn' key as my activation key. This allows me to hold down the 'fn' key and scroll both up/down and left/right by making movements with the trackpad. Imaging my surprise when I could no longer do this in the Firefox window, because 'fn' + left/right now mapped to gestures which represent forward/back. This also makes uControl's 'fn' + up/down pretty much useless, since the trackpad is not precise enough to ignore all left/right movement when moving up/down. I understand that I can remap uControl to use something else, but I don't want to. What I want is to be able to tell Firebird to stop forcing a behavior I don't want or need (I will never use 'fn' + left/right mouse movements to navigate forward/back). There is no interface in the preferences dialog to turn this off that I can see. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install uControl (http://gnufoo.org/ucontrol/ucontrol.html) 2. set up "Scroll Wheel Emulation" (with the 'fn' key as the only activation key...this is called "function" in the uControl preferences panel) 3. open any application (other than Firebird) which has both vertical and horizontal scroll bars (e.g., iTunes) 4. in this application, hold down the 'fn' key and move the mouse up/down and left/right 5. notice that the view moves appropriately 6. open Firebird 7. build up a few pages in the forward/back stacks 8. navigate to a page which scrolls both up/down and left/right (you can usually do this by just making the window small) 9. now hold down the 'fn' key and move the mouse up/down and left/right Actual Results: I can no longer successfully move the view by using 'fn' + mouse, but rather I'm sent back and forth in the navigation stack. Expected Results: Firebird should have left my 'fn' + mouse gesture behavior alone instead of forcing me to do something different. At the very least, I should be able to turn it off if I don't like the default behavior.
This may be related to bug #235310. Either way, it's still annoying.... :-)
