I'm trying like hell to reproduce this reliably, and I'm not having any luck so
far. I'm filing this to try to get some help nailing this down.
Perhaps half the times I open a folder in the bookmarks bar and dismiss it
without choosing a bookmark, the whole folder opens in tabs. This is not "Open
In New Tabs" behavior -- any existing tabs are replaced with the ones from the
folder I selected. The folder is not an marked as a tab group.
Because I realize this may sound insane (and there don't appear to be any
previous bugs for this), I've captured the Quicktime movie above of me trying,
and succeeding, to make this happen. As you can see, it takes a few clicks to
do it when I'm trying to do it. What's really annoying is when it happens
accidentally, when I'm browsing other pages.
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click a bookmark folder in the bookmark bar.
2. Don't select any of the bookmarks. Instead, click in the content area of the
window.
Actual Results:
I see the folder in the bar move slightly (as if it were clicked and moved a
pixel or two), and the bookmarks load in tabs, replacing the contents of the window.
Expected Results:
Nothing. The menu should be dismissed, and nothing should happen. And
sometimes, this actually does happen. But not every time.

Jasper has somewhat reproducible steps for this in bug 201898. It has to do with
doing a slight drag outside the menu. I've seen it to, so I also know you
aren't insane ;)

Ah ha. Bug 201898 was another one I was going to report a while ago, and didn't
because it was already there. It does appear to be a drag that causes it. I
can reproduce this every time using his steps.
