Mozilla makes a copy of bookmarks.html named bookmarks-#.html (# is the counting
number) each time I file a bookmark or close the Navigator window.
In the first case the bookmark is not filed too.
Today I have seen the counting number I have found was 9999 and Mozilla
interrupts his work in Mail and Navigator window every few seconds.
I can see that this is happening even if nobody touches the running system,
every 15 seconds.
I have a multi-user system where the other user(s) (my wife) share my bookmarks
and mail-account, which is installed in my personal files.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Dup of bug 157152? Is your bookmark.html file permission set to read only?

No, this has been my first check.
The profile directory was read-only. I have used as CD-Backup for transfer from
my old system.
Now it works!

Ahh goodies. Thanks for the quick replies! Reopening since there isn't an actual
fix here.
